Putting on the Ritz for Wolseley Vintage Car Rally
Ireland’s top model Katy French and dozens of vintage car owners were happily putting on the ritz at the start of the commemorative Wolseley Irish Trials Rally in Dawson Street, Dublin on Saturday 15 September 2007.
Over sixty proud owners of rare and beautiful 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s Wolseleys, Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Bugattis and Jaguars in mint condition were revving up at the starting ramp outside the Mansion House to take part in the weeklong rally which will cover over 1,000 miles in seven days. En route, the entrants can take part in several ‘trials’ designed to test the reliability and performance of their vintage automobiles.
The event was organised by the Wolseley Car Club of Ireland in association with the RIAC and commemorates the centenary of the legendary Irish Reliability Trials of 1906 - 1909. Model Katy French, along with several of the car owners, donned period costume to add to the festivities.
