Have a look at our recent commercial project completed at Ei Electronics newly built headquarters in Shannon, Co. Clare.

Helping to bring innovation and creativity to the forefront is something Tubs & Tiles are always happy to get on board with and that is exactly what was accomplished for Shannon's largest employer Ei Electronics, and their newly built headquarters. The lead on this project was our National Sales Manager for Tubs & Tiles Commercial, Jason O’ Connor.

The new headquarters is a 10,000m² building adjoining its old headquarters located in Shannon Industrial Estate. Tubs & Tiles supplied tiles for a number of areas throughout the building including the main reception and lobby, the canteen and outdoor seating area, staff toilets and shower facilities along with a number of hallways and stairwells.

Completed alongside ONOM, an architectural and project management consultancy in Galway, the client requested modern colours and styles. A huge focus was on LRV (Light Reflective Value) along with the correct slip resistance and low maintenance. They were looking for the perfect colour wall and floor tiles to match their signature red logo and opted for a mix of grey and white tones throughout.

In the staff toilets, the client opted for a marble effect tile on the walls (Palatina Rectified Glossy Ceramic Wall Tile 30x90cm) and paired it with a slate grey tile for the floor (Tavolara 60x60cm).   

Jason advised his favourite part of the project was definitely the canteen. We supplied two custom made mosaic pieces for the wall saying ‘Pasta’ and ‘Pizza’ that really add to the restaurant atmosphere that flows throughout the room. This is 23mm gloss white hexagonal mosaic with black lettering to form the wording. 

The outdoor seating area was also a favourite among the team. Ragno Realstone Cardoso Anthracite 30x60cm was used in this area, which has the required anti-slip rating of R11. The Realstone range by Ragno reflects the material strength of slate in porcelain stoneware. The nuanced shades are sober and sophisticated with a richness of shades and graphic details. The R11 anti-slip rating makes this tile the perfect choice for kitchens, bathrooms, walkways, halls and reception areas. 

The stairwell and hallway tiles supplied are Caprera Natural 60x60cm R10 along with Vulcano Steptread 30x60cm, both with a R10 anti-slip finish. It is evident that the architecture and design of this building exudes creative choices. The decision to implement tile flooring throughout means that from the moment you walk in, each room flows seamlessly together.
